The "Colorful, One Journey" inclusive race will take place on September 28 at Hoa Binh Park (Xuan Dinh, Hanoi).
It is expected that about 350 athletes, including the deaf, the hearing impaired, the blind, the physically disabled... will run or walk together alongside people without disabilities, to spread the spirit of "Many colors, one journey" - each individual has their own color, but all share the same step.
This is a special highlight of the 8th Hearing with Eyes event, where the deaf community and other disabled groups have the opportunity to meet, exchange and share, and immerse themselves in a friendly, open and harmonious sporting atmosphere.
This year's event was co-organized by the Hearing by Eye group, Angels' Haven Vietnam (AH), the Vietnam Association for Education for All (VAEFA), and the Vietnam Deaf Association's Steering Committee, within the framework of the Public-Private Partnership program of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), under the project "Improving the quality of inclusive education for children with disabilities in Vietnam, phase 2."
This is a meaningful connection between domestic and foreign organizations to spread the spirit of integration, affirming the right to equal participation of people with disabilities in cultural, social, sports and community activities.
The special feature of the race is its comprehensive integration: people with and without disabilities, whether professional or amateur athletes, runners or walkers, can all participate. Just by completing a lap, each person will receive a completion medal from the Organizing Committee.
The race is designed to accommodate many types of disabilities: There is sign language interpretation for the entire program, ensuring that all Deaf people can access full information; Products such as registration numbers (Bib) and medals are designed with Braille for the visually impaired; There are volunteers running with the visually impaired and people with intellectual disabilities throughout the race.
This year, on the occasion of the group's 10th anniversary, Hearing with Eyes expands its space with a new activity - organizing an outdoor sports event for the first time, welcoming everyone to participate.
Over the years, Hearing with Eyes has always been an attractive and anticipated event for the Deaf community in Vietnam. The annual programs have brought many diverse and unique activities, typically: Painting Exhibition (2017), Film Screening (2020), Experience Booth (2022), Deaf Tao Quan (2023), and many rich art performances./.
