The Vietnam Athletics Federation stated: "The athletics team participating in the 32nd SEA Games consisted of 75 members (21 team leaders and coaches and 54 athletes), competing in 38 out of 47 events. With a spirit of fair play, sportsmanship, and dedication to the national flag, the team performed excellently, winning a total of 40 medals including 12 gold, 20 silver, and 8 bronze, contributing to the overall success of the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 32nd SEA Games in 2023."
In order to promptly encourage and reward the athletics team as a whole and outstanding athletes in particular, the Vietnam Athletics Federation will organize a ceremony to celebrate and reward the athletics team at the 32nd SEA Games, at 10:00 AM on May 17th at the Hyatt Legacy West Hanoi Hotel ( Hanoi ).
Nguyen Thi Oanh beamed with joy upon her return home: "My parents have been eagerly awaiting my return."

Nguyen Thi Oanh excelled at the 32nd SEA Games. In addition to cash prizes and a car, she was also awarded an apartment. On May 11th, representatives from the Ever Green Bac Giang social housing project's investor consortium visited and congratulated Nguyen Thi Oanh's family in Nhuan village, My Ha commune (Lang Giang district, Bac Giang province) and presented her with an apartment in Nenh town (Viet Yen district, Bac Giang province) worth 700 million VND. The Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee also awarded her an additional 70 million VND.

Nguyen Thi Oanh and the athletics team received a 'shower' of awards after the 32nd SEA Games.
At the 32nd SEA Games, many Vietnamese track and field athletes made a special mark and spread the values of resilience, steely will, and overcoming the extreme challenges of objective circumstances. Nguyen Thi Huyen, a mother of one, still excelled, winning 3 gold medals; Nguyen Thi Thu Ha changed the color of her medal to its most beautiful color after two SEA Games appearances; and Nguyen Linh Na successfully defended her gold medal in the heptathlon.
In several relay events, the Vietnamese athletics team remains the strongest in the region, such as the mixed men's 4x400m relay and the women's 4x400m relay. The petite Nguyen Thi Oanh has a chance to win the title of best athlete of the Vietnamese sports delegation after winning 4 gold medals, most notably the gold medals in the 1,500m and 3,000m steeplechase, with the two events taking place less than 20 minutes apart.

Nguyen Linh Na won the gold medal in the heptathlon.

Nguyen Thi Huyen, a mother of one, won 3 gold medals at the 32nd SEA Games.

Mixed relay team
At the celebratory ceremony, Truong Hai Group Joint Stock Company (THACO Group) will present athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh with a 2008 Peugeot GT-Line car, manufactured in 2022, valued at over 900 million VND (including estimated costs such as VAT, vehicle registration fees, and other expenses to get the car on the road). The personal income tax payable upon receiving the gift will be over 82 million VND. Nguyen Thi Oanh will receive the symbolic key, after which she will be taken to the THACO AUTO showroom in Bac Giang to choose the car color. THACO AUTO staff will handle all procedures for Oanh to receive the car at no additional cost.
At the celebration ceremony on May 17th, representatives from THACO AUTO also presented 200 million VND to the Vietnamese athletics team. Vietcontent (Vietnam Trade and Content Joint Stock Company) donated 200 million VND to the Vietnamese athletics team. The Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund also donated 200 million VND. Lining donated 200 million VND. Thai An Hydropower Company donated 50 million VND. Hoang Thanh Infrastructure Investment and Development Company donated 50 million VND. The Vietnam Athletics Federation had already given the team 100 million VND before the SEA Games 32 and will award a further bonus of 500 million VND.
Athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh was given a 700 million VND apartment.
Regarding state-mandated bonuses, the Vietnamese athletics team (athletes only) received 1.545 billion VND. The coaches of the Vietnamese athletics team also received bonuses as stipulated by the state. In total, the athletics team received 2.86 billion VND in state-mandated bonuses. Including the cash bonuses, the total amount received by the Vietnamese athletics team is 4.36 billion VND.
