On the morning of September 2nd, the military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will take place at Ba Dinh Square. This is a highly anticipated event, sure to attract a large number of people from across the country to participate directly or watch indirectly via television and the internet.
To ensure seamless connectivity, enabling millions of people to record and share historical moments, the two major network operators, Viettel and VNPT, have been implementing unprecedented large-scale and comprehensive campaigns on telecommunications infrastructure.
Viettel: Comprehensive 5G coverage, pioneering AI application.
With the event being on such a massive scale, an estimated 2.9 million people are expected to flock to the parade area. The demand for services will extend beyond web browsing and movie watching, focusing instead on livestreaming, video calls, and posting high-quality photos and videos, turning every smartphone into a "mobile television station." This will create unprecedented pressure on the network.
To address this challenge, Viettel has outlined a comprehensive operational plan with over 2,400 technical solutions, 12 times more than for the September 2nd, 2024 event and 7 times the workload required for the A50 event held in Ho Chi Minh City.

Specifically, Viettel will install 1,700 new 5G base stations, including 500 new 5G BTS stations and, for the first time in Vietnam, 1,200 5G smallcell stations deployed in densely populated areas. These 5G smallcell stations will help increase internet capacity and speed, while also sharing the load with the 4G network.
In addition, Viettel also mobilized 700 temporary 4G base stations and 25 mobile broadcasting vehicles to serve the people.
This also marks the first time Viettel has used artificial intelligence (AI) to predict the most crowded locations and "hot" times that attract a lot of attention…
Every 5 minutes, the AI will automatically adjust the coverage area, directing the signal to the areas with the highest concentration of users, and redirecting users to nearby stations when overload is detected. This ensures a harmonious infrastructure operation and the best possible service quality.
VNPT has its infrastructure ready to serve the A80 event.
Besides Viettel, VNPT is also mobilizing all its resources to ensure that telecommunications infrastructure operates smoothly and safely throughout the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd.
Ahead of the Grand Celebration, VNPT has completed a review and optimization of its entire system and implemented measures to ensure the highest level of information security.

Technical scenarios have been prepared, ranging from maintaining mobile service quality and preventing cyberattacks (DDoS) to contingency plans for blocking services when unexpected requests arise, demonstrating a proactive spirit and absolute responsibility for national information security.
For key events such as parades, marches, and major art programs, VNPT has enhanced the capacity of its Vinaphone mobile network in 10 key areas in Hanoi.
In addition to 5,500 3G/4G/5G mobile base stations in the event areas, a series of technical solutions have also been aggressively implemented to enhance capacity and meet the increased customer service demand at event locations: adding 1,100 4G base stations, deploying mobile/field 3G/4G/5G coverage at 106 locations…
VNPT not only serves the connectivity needs of the people, but also provides a strategic transmission infrastructure for press and television agencies.
With Vietnam Television (VTV), VNPT has deployed fiber optic infrastructure at 17 locations, including 36 white fiber optic lines, 17 hotline channels, and 9 FTTH internet lines, ensuring smooth and sharp live television broadcasting.
With Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV), VNPT provides signal transmission for 18 LED screens, 6 live broadcast points, and 297 loudspeaker locations, ensuring clear and widespread sound throughout the streets.
The goal of the two network operators, Viettel and VNPT, is to help people share historical moments in the most complete way possible, from the marching troops passing the reviewing stand to the dazzling fireworks displays in the Hanoi sky.
