Sacombank employees donate 1 day's salary to help people overcome natural disasters

Over 12.7 billion VND has been contributed by Sacombank's employees and union members to help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters and restore their lives.

In keeping with the nation's fine tradition of mutual support and the mission of "Partnering for Development," the Executive Committee of the Sacombank Bank's grassroots trade union has mobilized union members and employees throughout the system to join hands in supporting people in provinces and cities affected by storms and floods.

In that spirit, more than 18,000 union members and employees of Sacombank Bank voluntarily contributed at least one day's salary per person, totaling over 12.7 billion VND.

The Executive Committee of the Sacombank Bank's grassroots trade union has transferred the above amount to the Fatherland Front Committees in the localities and the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor to provide support to people in the affected areas.

Mr. Bui Nguyen Khanh, Director of Sacombank Lao Cai Branch, and Mr. Nguyen Duc Binh, Deputy Head of Tuoi Tre Newspaper's Northern Region Representative Office, presented scholarships to students in Lao Cai.

Previously, Sacombank Bank coordinated with local authorities in Thai Nguyen and Lao Cai provinces to directly visit and donate gifts worth a total of 500 million VND to help people overcome the damage caused by typhoon No. 3.

Mr. Nguyen Tran Sinh, Director of Sacombank Phu Tho Branch, and his delegation presented scholarships to prevent school dropout among students in Phu Tho province.

The bank also contributed 500 million VND to the program supporting people in the northern provinces launched by Tuoi Tre newspaper and directly joined Tuoi Tre in awarding "Preventing School Dropout" scholarships to students and teachers in heavily flooded areas.

In addition, Sacombank has implemented many incentives for customers affected by storms and floods, such as a program to reduce interest rates by up to 2% per year on existing loans; lending capital of up to VND 10,000 billion with a minimum interest rate of 4% - 5% for new loans; a reduction of up to 50% in service fees and waiver of early repayment fees for all loans.

Sacombank branches/transaction offices located in the areas affected by the storm have also reviewed, shared, and supported customers, seeking solutions to restore production and business activities and re-stabilize their lives.
