This project will provide VNMAC with equipment such as tree cutters and mine clearance machines using advanced technology from Japanese companies. This equipment will be used for mine and unexploded ordnance clearance operations in cooperation with the People's Committees of provinces, including Quang Nam province. This cooperation also aims to promote the clearance of unexploded ordnance and reduce obstacles to development, while also being expected to contribute to economic and social development through social stability.
At the signing ceremony, Ambassador Ito Naoki stated that half a century has passed since the end of the Vietnam War, but approximately 17% of the country's land area still contains unexploded ordnance such as bombs and mines. This is the cause of annual casualties and threatens the safety of the people.
Through this project, by providing equipment related to the clearance of unexploded ordnance using superior technology from Japanese companies, Ambassador Ito Naoki hopes that unexploded ordnance clearance activities in contaminated areas such as Quang Nam province will be promoted, helping to create a safe environment for people to live in peace.
