Phat Tam Garment Company Limited, Truong Xuan Commune ( Can Tho City ) ensures production progress, creates jobs and stable income for workers.
In recent times, localities have always proactively coordinated with companies and units to facilitate documents, procedures, and introduce jobs inside and outside the city for workers. Specifically, Thoi Xuan commune has proactively coordinated with the food processing export company in Phuoc Thoi ward industrial park to recruit and arrange vehicles to pick up and drop off workers to work every day. Hung Phu ward has coordinated with TKG TaeKwang Can Tho Co., Ltd. to prioritize local workers to work with satisfactory income, regimes, and policies.
Ms. Bui Thi Hong Dung in Phu Khanh area, Hung Phu ward, shared: “I received preferential loan support to open a grocery store at home, and my daughter has been working at TaeKwang Shoe Company for nearly 3 years. Thanks to that, the family's income is more stable.”
Mr. Pham Tan Loc, Director of Phat Tam Garment Company Ltd., Truong Tho Hamlet, Truong Xuan Commune, said: “The company’s workers are mostly local people. Currently, the company has over 50 workers, with an average income of 5-8 million VND/month/person, depending on their skills. In addition, when there are urgent orders, I accept about 20 seasonal workers. The company is recruiting 50 workers to be apprentices, instructing sewing stages to prepare for expanding production scale.”
In addition, wards and communes strengthen coordination with employment service centers to organize domestic and foreign job consultation and introduction points so that local workers have the opportunity to find suitable jobs.
Outstanding and dominant is the solution to support loans from the job creation program. As of the end of July 2025, the loan turnover for job creation was over VND 1,218 billion, creating jobs for 25,260 workers on the spot. Outstanding loans from the city-wide job creation program were over VND 4,676 billion, with 99,687 workers borrowing. In wards and communes, the program's capital always accompanies and creates conditions to maintain the activities of association groups, production cooperatives, households to develop production, small trade, and increase income.
According to Mr. Huynh Viet Tien, Deputy Director of the Cai Rang Social Policy Bank Transaction Office, by the end of July 2025, nearly 60 billion VND of capital from the job creation program had been loaned to 1,104 households; outstanding loans were over 273 billion VND, with 5,515 households still in debt.
With a convenient location and a very friendly owner, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thao's coffee shop in Thanh My A area, Cai Rang ward, attracts many customers. Ms. Thao said: "Before, I sold electrical and water equipment. For the past two years, I have switched to running a coffee shop. After deducting expenses, I earn about 300,000 VND/day. Thanks to a loan of 50 million VND, I added capital to upgrade the shop, so I "made a lot of money".
With a loan of 50 million VND, Mr. Vo Thanh Dong, in Thoi An 4 area, Thot Not ward, has built a barn to raise French cows since 2021. Each time, Mr. Dong raises 10 beef cows. After 5 months of care, the average selling price is about 40 million VND/cow. According to Mr. Dong, French cows are easy to raise, gain weight quickly, have low feed costs and low disease risks, so he has a fairly high income. At the Thot Not Social Policy Bank Transaction Office, as of the end of July 2025, 6,886 households in the wards borrowed over 286 billion VND in capital to create jobs to expand production and small business.
Implementing Directive No. 40-CT/TW of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over social policy credit, every year, the city pays attention to transferring entrusted budget capital to the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies for lending. Communes and wards prioritize lending to models, production and service businesses that attract more local workers. To promote the effectiveness of loans, localities flexibly integrate credit programs with industrial, agricultural and fishery promotion programs; training on science and technology transfer, instructing people on how to do business... That has contributed to completing and exceeding the target of job creation in the city, reducing unemployment and underemployment.
In the coming time, the relevant departments will continue to coordinate and synchronously implement solutions to create effective and sustainable jobs; strengthen communication, career counseling, and connect the three-party relationship: schools - businesses - employment service centers. At the same time, mobilize and supplement capital sources for lending to policy credit programs, especially job creation, to meet the needs of production development, start-ups, and increase income of workers in the city.
