On September 18th, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, in coordination with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, held a press conference for the third quarter and provided information on activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Northward Relocation Event (1954-2024).

At the press conference, Mr. Tieu Minh Tien, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, said that the 70th anniversary celebration of the Northward Reunification Event, themed "Seeking Unification," will take place from November 10-25, 2024, with many meaningful activities aimed at fostering the spirit of great unity, self-reliance, self-improvement, and the aspiration for national development.
Accordingly, the 70th anniversary celebration of the Northward relocation event will take place from 8 PM to 9:30 PM on November 23rd at the monument area of the Northward relocation train (Song Doc town, Tran Van Thoi district). The commemorative program will include a theatrical performance recreating the history, land, and people of Ca Mau; the heroic revolutionary struggle for national liberation, as well as the construction and development of Ca Mau in the era of integration.
As part of the celebrations, Ca Mau province also organized a scientific seminar on the theme: "200 Days of Mobilization to the North in Ca Mau: Strategic Vision and Historical Value," held on November 22nd at the Provincial Conference Center (Ca Mau City), with 300 delegates; activities recreating the 200-day event of mobilization to the North in 1954; and a trade fair held from November 17th to November 27th in Song Doc town (Tran Van Thoi district) with more than 200 booths.
In addition to the above activities, Ca Mau province also organizes many attractive events such as mobile art programs; the Ca Mau Marathon 2024 PETROVIETNAM Cup; and sports activities (the Boat Racing Festival, the Artistic Kite Festival)...
According to Tieu Minh Tien, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, the event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the regrouping in the North was organized to promote and educate about historical traditions, patriotism, national pride and self-respect; to instill the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," to awaken the spirit of great unity, self-reliance, self-improvement, and the aspiration for a prosperous and happy country.
Through the activities of the event, we aim to introduce and promote the homeland and people of Ca Mau – brave, resilient, friendly, and hospitable – contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives of the people.
