Notably, 2,247 hectares are certified organic, located in the three communes of Nam Det, Nam Luc, and Ban Cai. The cinnamon growing area is concentrated in the 12 communes in the lower part of the district, mainly Nam Det, Nam Luc, Coc Lau, Ban Cai, and Coc Ly.
In 2024, the harvest yield reached 18,330 tons. The estimated value reached VND 256.62 billion from the sale of cinnamon bark, leaves, branches, seeds, and seedlings, an increase of over VND 40 billion compared to 2023. This increase is due to the generally stable consumption situation and the slight upward trend in cinnamon product prices: dried cinnamon branches and leaves from VND 1,500 - 2,000/kg; dried cinnamon bark from VND 35,000 - 50,000/kg; 4-sao cinnamon from VND 80,000 - 110,000/kg; cinnamon wood from VND 900,000 - 1,300,000/m3; and cinnamon essential oil from VND 300,000 - 380,000/kg.

Therefore, Bac Ha district has set a target to expand cinnamon cultivation to 11,025 hectares in the lower communes by 2025, focusing on developing organic cinnamon growing areas of over 2,700 hectares, aiming to build a national product brand. The development of cinnamon raw material areas will be linked to attracting investment in facilities for deep processing of cinnamon bark, creating high added value.
