Nong Son completed and exceeded 16/16 targets in 2024

According to the report at the meeting, in 2024, Nong Son district completed and exceeded 16/16 socio-economic development targets, ensuring security and national defense. Of which, the total value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production reached more than 302 billion VND, an increase of 6.18% compared to 2023; industrial and construction production is estimated at more than 1,072 billion VND, an increase of nearly 12%.

Grain production reached nearly 14,000 tons, achieving 111.3% of the plan. Economic revenue exceeded 74 billion VND, reaching 117.89% of the provincial target. Total social investment capital is estimated at 260 billion VND, reaching 104%.

The locality created jobs for 340 workers; demolished 49 temporary houses, achieving 100% of the provincial plan; the poverty rate decreased to 6.74%; and the forest cover rate reached 66.38%.

This year, five more OCOP products were recognized, bringing the total number of OCOP products in the district to 24, including one 4-star product. To date, Nong Son has achieved an average of 19 new rural criteria per commune, and Que Lam commune is expected to achieve new rural status in 2024.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Cong Thanh requested the Nong Son District People's Council to continue to innovate its methods and improve the quality of its operations. Further strengthen the explanation of voters' opinions and recommendations before and after the meeting. Enhance the supervisory role in implementing the resolution.

Comrade Nguyen Cong Thanh also requested that the district People's Council delegates focus on studying and promoting the spirit of solidarity and unity to successfully organize the first session of the new Que Son District People's Council and subsequent sessions after the merger of Nong Son and Que Son districts.
