Previously, on October 4, a female student of class 10A6, Nong Cong 2 High School (Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province) was walking home from school when she saw a female student of class 10A5 walking behind her talking and laughing with another friend. The female student of class 10A6 thought that her friend was talking badly about her, leading to an argument.

On the afternoon of October 5, after school, the two female students continued to argue and fight. Afterwards, the school security broke up the fight and the students left. However, when they arrived at Tan Phuc commune, Nong Cong district, the students continued to argue, leading to a fight.

As a result, an 11th grade female student (when she intervened to stop a group of friends from fighting) was beaten up and seriously injured, and had to be transferred to Viet Duc Hospital for treatment.
