Doanh has been an excellent student for many years at Binh Long High School. In the recent high school graduation exam, Doanh did very well, with the first wish to enter the textile technology major at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.
This is the dream I have cherished since I was a child, because I have a talent for fashion design, and am good at knitting and embroidering many beautiful and unique patterns. In particular, this is a major with low tuition fees and many job opportunities in the future.
Doanh's parents divorced when she was just learning to walk. 10 years ago, her father passed away from a stroke, her mother had her own family, and the two sisters moved in with their grandmother, Tran Thi Hoa (66 years old), in group 2, Thanh Xuan hamlet, An Loc ward.
Mrs. Hoa sadly shared: “My husband passed away early, leaving me with 4 school-age children. With no assets or fields, we struggled in every way. When my son passed away, I saw my 2 orphaned grandchildren, so no matter how hard it was, I had to take care of them.”

To make ends meet, despite her old age, poor health, and poor eyesight, Ms. Hoa still has to work as an hourly housekeeper to earn an income. Misfortunes never come singly. Two years ago, Ms. Hoa's brother suffered a stroke and was paralyzed. He lived alone, in very difficult circumstances, with no income... so she had to take him home to take care of him.

Doanh's older sister, who was mentally retarded, only finished 7th grade and then dropped out of school to work, but her job was unstable and she is currently unemployed. Out of concern for her grandmother's health, Doanh works outside of school hours to cover her living expenses and education.
She shared: "Being orphaned and poor since childhood has become the motivation for me to train myself to be diligent, study well, and later be able to change my fate."
But now, facing university, with a tuition fee of about 30 million VND/year, it is too much money for Doanh's family at this time.
“The whole family lives in a small, old house, struggling with every meal, every pill… making me not dare to continue writing my dream. I plan to postpone my results for 1-2 years to go to work, have enough money for tuition, then go back to school” - Doanh choked.

We hope that philanthropists will join hands to support and give Le Kha Doanh the opportunity to go to school, so that she can continue her dream of going to school.
