On the morning of October 22nd, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a conference to announce decisions on personnel matters. Among these decisions was the appointment of Mr. Le Quoc Phong, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, as the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Party Agencies of Ho Chi Minh City.
The Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has appointed Mr. Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Party agencies of Ho Chi Minh City for the term 2025-2030.
Previously, at the First Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025-2030, the Politburo announced the decision that Mr. Le Quoc Phong would cease his participation in the Party Committee Executive Board, the Standing Committee, and his position as Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term in order to join the Party Committee Executive Board, the Standing Committee, and hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
Mr. Le Quoc Phong was born in 1978 in Hanoi. He holds a PhD in Biotechnology, a Master's degree in Biochemistry, a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences , and advanced political theory qualifications.
Prior to becoming the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Mr. Le Quoc Phong held various positions at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, the Central Youth Union, and Dong Thap province, and was a member of the Central Committee of the Party in the 12th and 13th terms.
Mr. Phong's education, work, and career development stemmed from the Youth Union movement in Ho Chi Minh City. He participated in Youth Union activities since his time as a student at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, and later studied and worked at the University of Science - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.
