In Kon Tum, a sleeper bus carrying over 30 passengers on National Highway 14 plunged into a 20-meter-deep ravine, injuring 10 people, on the evening of February 3rd (24th day of the 12th lunar month).
At approximately 10:30 PM, a car with a Dak Lak license plate, carrying passengers returning home for Tet (Lunar New Year), was traveling on National Highway 14 from north to south. Upon reaching Dak Kroong commune, Dak Glei district, the vehicle suddenly plunged into a ravine about 20 meters deep.

The accident caused the car to flip over several times, becoming severely deformed and damaged. Many passengers were injured and panicked; some managed to get out and use their phones to call for help. Traffic police from Ngoc Hoi Station, under the Kon Tum Provincial Police, coordinated with authorities in Dak Glei district to break open the doors and rescue the victims, taking them to the hospital for emergency treatment.
A leader of the Dak Glei District Medical Center said that at around 11 PM, the unit received 10 people with multiple injuries and broken bones. Of these, 4 serious cases were transferred to a higher-level hospital.

National Highway 14 is 980 km long, starting at Dakrong Bridge in Quang Tri province and ending at the intersection with National Highway 13 in Chon Thanh town, Binh Phuoc province. It is a vital route connecting the Central Highlands with the North Central and Southeast regions of Vietnam. The section of road where the bus accident occurred has winding, treacherous terrain with many hills and slopes.
