Many activities for workers
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Do Chi Thanh, Deputy General Director of Petrovietnam, said that the launching ceremony of "Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health; launching a competition for creative labor, improving productivity and efficiency, exceeding the targets of the 2025 management plan; launching a competition for short stories, essays, poems and clips to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Petrovietnam; honoring outstanding oil and gas workers and creative workers in 2025 and the 2020-2025 period" is an event of great significance to the activities of the Group and Petrovietnam workers.
According to Mr. Do Chi Thanh, in 2024, despite facing numerous difficulties, thanks to perseverance, effective management solutions, the determination of unit leaders at all levels within the Group, and the continuous efforts of the entire workforce, Petrovietnam achieved outstanding results.
Petrovietnam has set new records for revenue and profit in the more than 60-year history of the industry and 50 years of construction and development of the oil and gas sector. This achievement is even more significant when, by 2025, key oil and gas plants and facilities are operating stably, continuously, and safely, without serious accidents, incidents, or fires; many new projects are put into operation and exploited safely; the frequency of accidents and incidents is low; and the health of workers is well taken care of.
To effectively implement the theme of the Workers' Month and the theme of the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2025, the leadership of Petrovietnam requested the Group to carry out the following tasks. Specifically, the Industry Trade Union is to closely direct all levels of trade unions within the Group to continue maintaining and promoting patriotic emulation movements, focusing on the emulation movement to complete the Group's and units' management plan targets, the emulation of creative labor, and to closely follow and effectively organize the "Innovation in Oil and Gas" program to implement among the workforce, transforming the creative emulation movement into a driving force for development.
Building a safe working environment and promoting sustainable business development; continuing to maintain and continuously improve the Safety-Quality-Environment Management System throughout the Group. Simultaneously, implementing the PSM (Process Management System) for technology safety management at units operating technologically complex oil and gas facilities to contribute to improving safety management in the Group's operations, maintaining safe and efficient operation, and ensuring the security and safety of existing gas facilities and newly commissioned facilities/projects…

Mr. Phan Van Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, stated that the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union is one of the first corporate trade unions to continuously launch the Workers' Month, the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health, and to honor outstanding oil and gas workers for the past 12 years with very impressive results. Hundreds of billions of VND have been provided to support disadvantaged workers, dozens of union-sponsored homes have been built, and more than 700 outstanding oil and gas workers have been honored during Workers' Month.
Launching a songwriting contest in celebration of Petrovietnam's 50th anniversary.
At the event, Petrovietnam also officially launched the "Petrovietnam Milestones" short story, essay, and poetry writing contest and the "Petrovietnam & Me" video clip contest. The contests are not only an opportunity to look back on the Group's glorious development journey but also create a special artistic space for the community, from employees to citizens who love the oil and gas industry, to share stories, emotions, memories, and faith in Petrovietnam.
At the same time, through this competition, the organizers hope to inspire creativity, pride, responsibility, and love for the oil and gas industry—a key economic sector of the nation.
Beyond the scope of the industry, the competition serves as an opportunity to connect Petrovietnam with the wider community, including artists, journalists, economic experts, and individuals interested in Petrovietnam. Valuable works submitted to the competition will contribute to building trust and creating momentum for Petrovietnam's innovation, integration, and sustainable development.
With the theme "The Vietnamese working class pioneers into a new era" and the Action Month on occupational safety and health with the theme "Strengthening the assessment and identification of risks and proactively implementing measures to ensure occupational safety and health at the workplace," the activities during the month aim to care for the employment, material and spiritual lives of workers, ensure safety for workers; and enhance the knowledge, awareness, and compliance with laws on occupational safety and health among workers and employers.
On behalf of Petrovietnam's member units, Mr. Bui Ngoc Duong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company, pledged to effectively implement the activities of the Workers' Month in conjunction with the month of action for occupational safety and health; and to organize the "May Dialogue" program well to receive and address the issues of workers, ensuring income, material and spiritual well-being for union members and employees.
BSR will implement specific solutions and action programs to prevent occupational accidents and diseases, improve working conditions, launch emulation campaigns, build a culture of occupational safety, and promote the mass movement of workers in occupational safety and health; and carry out monitoring activities and coordinate inspections and audits on occupational safety and health in a close and effective manner. BSR will continue to encourage union members and employees to innovate, develop initiatives, improve techniques, and apply modern technology to production, contributing to increased labor productivity, improved management efficiency, and the unit's competitiveness.
In addition, BSR continues to effectively carry out social welfare activities both within and outside the company, including caring for, visiting, supporting, and giving gifts of gratitude; and continues to implement the "Oil and Gas Workers' Compassion Program" to spread the noble deeds of oil and gas workers to the community.
