Da Nang International Fireworks Festival: An early final between fierce rivals Italy.

The second fireworks night of DIFF 2024 has the theme "Made of Nature Wisdom - A Masterpiece of Nature".

Italy's surprise

The Italian team (Martarello Group SRL), the runner-up at DIFF 2023, returns for DIFF 2024 with an impressive track record, most notably two consecutive championships at DIFF 2017-2018. Founded in 1921, the Martarello fireworks company has, over 100 years ago, transformed from a manufacturer of handcrafted fireworks into one of the world's largest and most renowned fireworks producers.

Not only is Martarello's production of fireworks, but its technology and display techniques are also constantly being upgraded, resulting in high-quality performances. In many international fireworks festivals and competitions, the Martarello fireworks team is a formidable competitor to world fireworks powerhouses like China and Germany.

The second night of DIFF 2024 featured a showdown between the Italian team, the two-time consecutive DIFF champion in 2017 and 2018, and runner-up in DIFF 2023, and the American team.

The second night of this year's DIFF will be themed "Made of Nature Wisdom - A Masterpiece of Nature".

At DIFF 2023, the Italian team was defeated by the French team in the final night. Returning to Da Nang City and participating in DIFF this time, the Italian team is determined to once again win over the audience along the Han River with artistic stories deeply rooted in Italian culture.

This year, the Italian team drew inspiration from nature and the colors of life, presenting a creative performance titled "Radiant Universe: A Symphony of Light".

The Italian team's visual feast combined symphonic music to depict the gentle flow of the river with vibrant, rhythmic climaxes to portray the grandeur of wild nature.

Before the performance, Michele Martarello, Artistic Director of Martarello and representative of the Italian team, shared his gratitude to the audience in Da Nang for their support of the Italian team in previous DIFF seasons, and said the team would bring an unprecedented surprise.

Spectators witnessed vivid depictions of nature recreated through each spectacular and breathtaking fireworks display by the Italian team.

The Italian team completely captivated the audience.

And surprisingly, the Italian team included two popular Vietnamese songs in their performance. With the experience of being one of the most successful teams in the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, the Italian team knew exactly how to win over the Vietnamese audience.

Especially when the song "Cutting in Two the Sorrow" (Tang Duy Tan) was played, the audience applauded non-stop. The Italian team also incorporated another Vietnamese song, "Emperor" (Dinh Dung), into the background music, affirming their determination to reclaim the DIFF crown this time.

And the prolonged applause that followed showed that the Italian team had completely won over the audience on their return to Da Nang City.

The American team inspired the festival.

The company representing the US team is Rozzi Fireworks. For over 130 years, Rozzi Fireworks has consistently maintained its position among the leading fireworks companies. Currently, Rozzi Fireworks has performed over 300 fireworks displays worldwide, winning numerous awards.

The American team has also participated many times in the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival and is a favorite among audiences for always bringing a youthful, vibrant, and inspiring performance style that evokes a strong sense of festival spirit.

The American team displayed their power right from the first volleys of artillery fire with a series of effects.

The multi-tiered fireworks display by the American team was accompanied by lively music.

Diverse and vibrant effects

Indeed, on the second night of the competition, the American team delivered an explosive performance with the theme "Humanity - A Bridge Between Nations." A series of giant fireworks displays in vibrant colors symbolized the diversity of human experience.

The colors blend and merge, reflecting the harmonious coexistence of different cultures and contexts.

The American team's performance conveyed the message that fireworks are not just a form of entertainment but also a visual art. With what they showcased during the competition, the American team truly inspired a vibrant and exciting festival atmosphere, bringing joy to the audience.

However, at times the American team over-displayed their power with a series of consecutive fireworks displays, creating thick smoke, especially towards the end of the show, preventing the audience from fully appreciating the fireworks effects.

The DIFF opened with a competition between defending champion France and host country Vietnam on the evening of June 8th. Following the Italy-USA match, the next nights featured performances by Germany and Poland (June 22nd) with the theme "Made of Love Inspiration"; China and Finland (June 29th with the theme "Made of Fairy Tales"); and the final night on July 13th titled "Made of Young Generation".
