A representative of Saigon Practical Primary School said that due to the conditions of facilities and teachers, the school has not been able to increase the enrollment scale despite the high demand from parents. The school also does not want to have to wait in line. In addition, for grade 1 enrollment, the school only enrolls students by distributing applications in order and based on priority groups, unlike grade 6, which is based on academic results, foreign languages or ability assessments.
Saigon Practical Primary School enrolls 150 students for the 2024-2025 school year, a decrease of 25 students compared to last year.
The priority admission subjects are: children whose father or mother is a civil servant or employee currently working at Saigon University. Next are the children of individuals and units that have cooperated and contributed to the development of the school; children whose father or mother is a cadre, civil servant or employee in the public sector and preschool children belonging to the remaining subjects. The admission results will be announced on July 1.
This is the only school in Ho Chi Minh City where every year parents line up to buy first grade application forms for their children.
