Women of Pong Drang commune innovate content and methods of activities

Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union Vo Thi Ngoc attended and directed the congress. Attending the congress were former leaders of the Women's Union of the former Krong Buk district.

On behalf of Pong Drang commune, there were: Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the commune Nguyen Duc Linh; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune Nguyen Ngoc Dac; Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of H'Nguop Nie commune; representatives of departments, branches and organizations.

The Standing Committee of the Dak Lak Provincial Women's Union presented a flower basket to congratulate the congress.

The Women's Union of Pong Drang commune was merged from the Women's Unions of Tan Lap, Ea Ngai communes and Pong Drang town of the old Krong Buk district. The whole commune currently has 5,888 women aged 18 and over; of which, 3,537 are women members, active in 34 village branches, 1 affiliated branch and 77 association groups.

During the past term, the Commune Women's Union has constantly innovated its content and methods of operation, built many practical models, launched exciting emulation movements, and attracted a large number of members to participate. During the term, 7/7 targets were achieved and exceeded the Resolution of the Commune Women's Congress.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Truc, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Pong Drang commune spoke at the congress.

Activities to support women in economic development, sustainable poverty reduction, and entrepreneurship are also focused on. The Association has helped 35/30 households escape poverty according to multidimensional poverty criteria (exceeding 116.66% of the plan); 37/30 households escape near-poverty (exceeding 123.33% of the plan); helped 705 households borrow capital from the Social Policy Bank with a total outstanding debt of 42 billion VND; the Fund to support poor women in economic development is nearly 2 billion VND; planted 2,000 trees; launched a campaign to clean up village roads and alleys, and planted flowers on the roads.

Activities of social supervision, criticism, gender equality, and building a strong association continued to be carried out effectively. During the term, the number of members increased by 380 compared to the beginning of the term; 63 outstanding female cadres and members were introduced to the Party Committee to attend Party awareness classes; and the Party Committee advised the Party Committee to admit 20 outstanding members into the Party.

The Executive Committee of the Women's Union of Pong Drang commune for the 2025 - 2030 term was introduced to receive its duties.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Breakthrough - Development", for the 2025 - 2030 term, the Women's Union of Pong Drang commune sets the goal: "Building an effective Union organization, flexibly adapting to the new context; promoting the role of women participating in socio-economic development, promoting gender equality, ready to enter a new era, contributing to building Pong Drang commune to develop rapidly and sustainably, becoming a rich, beautiful and civilized commune", 5 targets and 3 breakthroughs.

Speaking at the congress, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union Vo Thi Ngoc acknowledged and commended the achievements of the Women's Union of Pong Drang commune in the past time; at the same time, she suggested that the Women's Union of the commune continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, creativity, closely follow the political tasks of the locality, innovate the content and methods of operation, apply information technology in the activities of the Union; focus on the grassroots, build a strong Union organization with the motto "Where there are women, there are Union activities".

The Congress announced the Decision of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union appointing the Executive Committee of the Women's Union of Pong Drang commune for the 2025 - 2030 term, consisting of 39 members; of which the Standing Committee has 9 members. Ms. Nguyen Thi Truc was appointed to hold the position of President of the Women's Union of the commune, for the 2025 - 2030 term.

The Congress also appointed 2 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate to attend the 1st Dak Lak Provincial Women's Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
