Quang Ngai warns of rising floods on rivers due to heavy rain

Quang Ngai Province Hydrometeorological Station said on October 20 that due to the influence of storm No. 12 combined with the strengthening cold air in the province in the past few days, there has been heavy to very heavy rain. Currently, Thach Nham spillway (on the route from the center of Quang Ngai province to Son Ha commune) has been deeply flooded by floodwaters. Local authorities have put up prohibition signs on both sides of the road and sent forces to prevent people from passing through the spillway. Due to heavy rains, floodwaters on Tra Cau, Ve, and Phuoc Giang rivers are rising rapidly. Quang Ngai has 6,422 fishing boats; of which, 458 boats/5,008 workers are operating in the sea areas.
