The second earthquake occurred at 2:30 AM on the same day, with a magnitude of 2.8, a focal depth of approximately 8.2 km, and a disaster risk level of 0.

The aftershocks from the first earthquake were clearly felt by many people in Gia Lai . Mr. Pham Thu Cong (Thong Nhat ward, Gia Lai province) said that while he was sleeping, he heard the doors and corrugated iron roof shaking violently, and many of his family members had the same experience.

As reported by SGGP newspaper, the Mang But commune area (formerly part of Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province) has been experiencing frequent earthquakes recently. Experts believe these are triggered earthquakes, most likely related to the operation of a hydroelectric reservoir.
