Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha thanked Deputy Prime Minister Carola Schouten for the warm and cordial reception given to the Vietnamese delegation, and affirmed that Vietnam always values the comprehensive partnership between the two countries.
Assessing the visit of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha as particularly significant as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1973-2023), the Dutch Deputy Prime Minister expressed confidence that the event would contribute to further deepening the framework of the Strategic Partnership on Climate Change Adaptation and Water Management.

Regarding bilateral relations, the two leaders welcomed the positive developments in the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the Netherlands in recent times; affirming their determination to deepen and enhance the effectiveness of the Vietnam-Netherlands Comprehensive Partnership, commensurate with the potential and aspirations of the high-level leaders and people of both countries.
Both sides agreed that in the coming period, it is necessary to strengthen exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially at the high level, through state, government, parliamentary channels and people-to-people exchanges; and to effectively implement the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that the two countries share many similarities in natural conditions, are both affected by climate change and rising sea levels, and are both determined to act towards green and sustainable development, promoting energy transition, especially in the context of Vietnam working with G7 partners to implement the Joint Political Declaration on Just Energy Transition (JETP), and continuing to coordinate closely within the framework of the Strategic Partnership on Climate Change Adaptation and Sustainable Agriculture.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Netherlands to promptly ratify the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and support the European Commission (EC) in lifting the IUU yellow card on Vietnamese seafood exports. He also requested the Netherlands to promote cooperation with Vietnam not only in politics and economics but also in socio-cultural areas such as pensions, social insurance, child protection, care and education, gender equality, and human resource development.

For her part, Dutch Deputy Prime Minister Carola Schouten expressed her hope that Vietnam would support the Netherlands in strengthening its relations with ASEAN.
The two leaders affirmed their commitment to continued close coordination and mutual support in multilateral forums and international organizations such as the ASEAN-EU cooperation framework, ASEM, and the United Nations.
Regarding the South China Sea issue, both sides affirmed the importance of ensuring peace, stability, security, safety, and freedom of navigation and overflight in the South China Sea, resolving disputes peacefully on the basis of international law, and emphasizing the important significance of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested the Dutch Government to continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in the Netherlands to play an important bridging role in the friendly relations between the two countries. He also affirmed that Vietnam welcomes and creates the best environment for foreign investors, entrepreneurs, and tourists, including those from the Netherlands, to visit Vietnam.
