Yen Lap District Women's Union directed the Xuan An Commune Women's Union, Yen Lap District to launch a community communication team in Hon 1 area and communicate to raise awareness and build a safe living environment for women and children.
Launching the Community Communication and Cultural Exchange Team in implementing gender equality
The Hon 1 Area Communication Team has 5 female members with many achievements in implementing emulation movements and Association activities. The tasks of the members in the Community Communication Team focus on propagating and mobilizing changes in "thinking and doing" to contribute to eliminating prejudices and gender stereotypes in the family and community, backward customs and some urgent social issues for women and children in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
Build and replicate models to change “thinking and doing”, enhance women’s economic empowerment; promote gender equality and address urgent issues of women and children. Ensure the voice and participation of women and children in socio-economic development activities of the community, monitor and criticize; support, assist, and provide training to improve knowledge for women participating in leadership in the political system. In addition, equip officials in the political system with knowledge about gender equality, skills to implement gender mainstreaming, and ways to care for and protect children, especially girls.
This is one of the four contents of Project 8 "Implementing gender equality in ethnic minority and mountainous areas", under the National Target Program on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, which the Yen Lap District Women's Union has directed to effectively implement.
