The project accompanies the team of teachers in the new AI era, aiming at the goal of "popularizing AI education", helping AI knowledge and skills become popular, accessible and become basic competencies in teaching.

In the context of global educational technology innovation every day, Vietnamese teachers are still facing many challenges: large classes, non-interactive learning resources and limited access to international resources. These difficulties make efforts to innovate teaching methods not as effective as expected. Therefore, the application of artificial intelligence is expected to become a powerful support tool, helping teachers improve their capacity and create more suitable learning experiences for students.

Dr. Tran Viet Hung - Founder and General Director of STEAM for Vietnam shared: “We have directly trained and impacted nearly 100,000 teachers, witnessed AI helping teachers increase efficiency, reduce manual tasks to focus on the core mission: nurturing knowledge and inspiring students. But to reach 2 million teachers, a breakthrough solution and domestic and foreign partnership alliance are needed. With OctoAI - 24/7 tutor, the program of self-paced learning, learning through practice, ready to be applied in the classroom can be expanded nationwide, realizing the strategy of using AI to accelerate the popular learning of AI. Ultimately, the quality of education depends on the quality of teachers”.

The biggest difference of this project lies in the parallel model: One assistant specializes in providing a Vietnamese-language AI learning resource, while the other assistant plays the role of an “online tutor”, directly accompanying teachers in fostering digital skills and suggesting applications right in the classroom. OctoAI not only provides knowledge but also nurtures the ability to apply - a key factor in helping teachers adapt to the new AI era. In addition, OctoAI is also developed with an intuitive interface, allowing teachers to easily track progress, participate in classes and manage their learning journey.

In particular, the system can automatically build a complete multimedia course with a set of accompanying questions with just one request, and at the same time support instant adjustment according to the user's wishes. With this combination, OctoAI becomes a comprehensive companion tool, helping teachers save time, improve efficiency and quickly master practical skills.

Ms. Ngo Minh Trang - Director of Vietnet Information Technology and Communication Center (Vietnet-ICT) said: "In many years of implementing the program 'Digital Age Thinking' with Meta, Vietnet-ICT has witnessed a clear change in the awareness and digital skills of teachers, students and parents. The project 'OctoAI - New AI Age Teachers' is a natural next step, taking digital capacity further, into the field of understanding and interacting with artificial intelligence, to help Vietnamese teachers and students be ready for the future of smart education. The greatest value of the project is to bring teachers a learning journey that is both updated and practical, from "What is AI" to how to apply it right in the classroom, linked to competency standards and professional ethics. Lessons are flexibly designed with videos , images, review questions, allowing teachers to self-study, receive instant feedback and have a personalized roadmap. At the same time, OctoAI is always ready 24/7 to explain and suggest application, while instructors and teaching assistants periodically support integration into teaching.”

By October 2025, the project had completed the technical and content development phase, and launched a pilot version at the Meta AI Conference in Singapore and was widely announced at the STEAMese Festival 2025. The next step, from December 2025, will be to expand pilot training to 5,000 secondary school teachers nationwide, marking an important step in the roadmap to popularizing AI in education. Research activities lasting until 2026 will provide scientific data and policy recommendations, contributing to the implementation of Resolution 71 of the Ministry of Education and Training, and paving the way for the model to be replicated nationwide.

The unique feature of the study is that it was implemented in a comparative and control manner. Specifically, out of more than 5,000 participating teachers, about 2,500 teachers directly used the application, while the other 2,500 teachers only had access to conventional learning resources. Dividing into these two groups allows for objective monitoring and comparison of results: Which group saved more time, which group improved their digital skills better, and which group found teaching more convenient. Thanks to this, the project can provide convincing evidence of the effectiveness of OctoAI, while creating a scientific basis for replicating the model nationwide.

Sharing about the project, Mr. Pham Giang Linh, General Director of HOCMAI, the co-research unit, said: “With nearly two decades of experience accompanying Vietnamese teachers and students, we understand that educational innovation can only be successful when teachers are supported with the right tools. OctoAI was developed with that spirit, becoming a powerful assistant to help teachers save time, optimize teaching, and gradually personalize learning for each student, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of learning in the AI era.”
