TPO - Before the news that Quang Nam Club will not participate in the V-League 2025/26 season, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) spoke up about this.

Some reports suggest that Quang Nam will not participate in the V-League 2025/26. Instead, the team will merge with SHB Da Nang. In fact, these are two teams closely associated with the image of Chairman Hien.

In the 2017 season, under the guidance of former Vietnam national team coach Hoang Van Phuc, Quang Nam created a miraculous story in the V-League with a surprising championship win. However, after that, Quang Nam gradually declined and fell to the lower half of the table.

Speaking to Tien Phong newspaper today, a VPF representative said that the organizing committee has not yet received an official document from Quang Nam province. The representative stated:

“We have also received information through the press, but everything is still at the preliminary exchange stage. Currently, VPF has not received any official document from Quang Nam. If they do not participate in the V-League or disband the team, the club will have to comply with the regulations.”

If Quang Nam withdraws, the V-League 2025/26 will have 13 teams. VPF stated that in that case, the plan for organizing the new season, whether the number of participating teams remains the same or new teams are added, etc., must all be implemented according to the regulations of the tournament and with the permission of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
