The Son La Plum and Agricultural Products Festival is not only an opportunity for consumers to enjoy and purchase unique products from the Northwest region, but also demonstrates Saigon Co.op's efforts in connecting trade and expanding markets for agricultural products from mountainous provinces. This is the first time Saigon Co.op has collaborated with a Northwest province to organize such a large-scale event, promising to bring many development opportunities for local agricultural products.

Besides offering customers the opportunity to enjoy fresh, delicious plums at discounted prices, Saigon Co.op also organized many exciting experiential activities at Co.opmart and Co.opXtra supermarkets. Customers not only got to sample fresh plums for free, but also had the chance to explore a variety of processed plum products such as plum jam, dried plums, plum syrup, etc. These activities contributed to creating a vibrant and attractive atmosphere for the festival, attracting the attention of a large number of consumers.
The appeal of Son La plums was evident on the very first day of the festival, when more than 10 tons of plums were sold in a single day at Saigon Co.op's retail outlets. This demonstrates the positive reception of consumers towards this specialty product and confirms the effectiveness of the festival's preparation and organization.
Beyond just plums, the festival also introduces consumers to agricultural products and OCOP (One Commune One Product) items from Son La such as longan, yellow passion fruit, coffee, tea, black garlic, vermicelli, smoked buffalo meat, etc. The diversity of products helps consumers gain a more comprehensive understanding of the potential and richness of Son La's agricultural products, while also opening up new cooperation opportunities for local producers.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee, emphasized the importance of bringing Son La plums into Saigon Co.op's distribution system, considering it a crucial step to enhance the value and brand positioning of the product. The festival has economic significance and demonstrates close cooperation between local authorities, producers, and distributors.
In addition, Mr. Vo Tran Ngoc, General Director of Saigon Co.op, affirmed the unit's commitment to supporting and accompanying Vietnamese agricultural products, with the motto "Vietnamese people use Vietnamese goods," contributing to bringing high-quality products closer to consumers nationwide.
He also emphasized that the Son La plum and agricultural products festival is not just a single event, but opens up opportunities for similar activities in the future. Saigon Co.op affirmed that it will continue to organize festivals to promote and support Vietnamese agricultural products, while providing customers with exciting and inspiring shopping experiences.
