In November 2024, Toyota recorded its 10th consecutive global production decline, shipping 869,230 vehicles.
In November 2024, Toyota recorded its tenth consecutive month of declining global production. Meanwhile, the company's worldwide sales increased for the second consecutive month thanks to solid demand in the United States and China.
The world's largest automaker produced 869,230 vehicles globally in November, down 6.2% from the same period last year, a larger decline than the 0.8% drop in October.

Toyota's U.S. production fell 11.8%, showing a slow recovery despite the resumption of production of the Grand Highlander and Lexus TX SUV models in late October after a four-month shutdown.
Meanwhile, car production in China fell 1.6%, though still better than the 9% drop in the previous month, as Toyota saw higher sales of its Granvia and Sienna minivans, as well as the bZ3 electric sedan developed jointly with BYD, in the country.
Amidst the rise of BYD and other Chinese brands, Toyota has decided to build an independent factory in Shanghai and begin producing electric vehicles for its luxury Lexus brand around 2027.
In Japan, which accounts for about one-third of Toyota's global production, vehicle shipments fell 9.3% in November. This was partly due to the Fujimatsu and Yoshiwara plants having to shut down production for two days.
Toyota's worldwide sales increased for the second consecutive month, rising 1.7% to 920,569 vehicles, setting a new record in November.
In the period from January to November, Toyota's global production was 5.2% lower than the same period last year, at approximately 8.75 million vehicles, while global sales decreased by 1.2%. Production and sales figures include Toyota's Lexus-branded vehicles but exclude vehicles from the group's subsidiaries, Hino and Daihatsu.
