Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs deploys tasks for the last 6 months of the year

On July 28, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held a conference to review the work of Labor, People with Merits and Social Affairs in the first 6 months of the year, and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2023.

In the first six months of 2023, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs advised the Provincial People's Committee on the issuance of documents related to its areas of responsibility, while proactively developing programs and plans for implementation. During the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit 2023, the department effectively advised on social welfare work, organizing visits and distributing over 150,000 gifts worth over 61.5 billion VND to policy beneficiaries, war invalids, the elderly, social welfare recipients, and children with special difficulties in the province. In the first six months, it provided employment for over 10,000 people, including 881 people who went abroad for work.

The work of preventing and combating social evils, protecting and caring for children, and promoting gender equality has been emphasized. In particular, the sector has focused on guiding localities to effectively implement Resolution No. 43, dated March 10, 2023, of the Provincial People's Council on supporting the construction and repair of housing for poor households in the province during the 2023-2025 period, striving to ensure that by the end of 2023, 100% of approved poor households have completed the construction and repair of their houses in accordance with regulations…

At the conference, delegates discussed and shared difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing tasks; contributed ideas to develop solutions and complete tasks in the last months of the year.

The focus of these solutions is on improving the effectiveness of vocational training by closely aligning it with the actual needs of the labor market; updating the 2023 labor market database; directing, monitoring, and urging the entry of labor supply and demand information into the labor market database software… as a basis for fulfilling the role of a "bridge" between workers and businesses; checking the implementation of the National Target Program for Poverty Reduction in 2023; and completing the implementation of the housing support policy for poor households approved in 2023…
