According to statistics from the Provincial Center for Disease Control, from the beginning of the year to August 13th, the province recorded 1,625 cases of dengue fever and 2 deaths.
Of the 1,625 dengue fever cases mentioned above, 1,601 were dengue fever cases or dengue fever with warning signs, and 24 were severe dengue fever cases. Notably, the number of cases has increased rapidly from the beginning of July to the present, with over 1,200 cases, nearly three times the number of cases in the first six months of the year.

According to Dr. Le Phuc, Deputy Director of the Provincial Center for Disease Control, given the complex developments of the dengue fever epidemic, the Provincial Center for Disease Control has requested the Health Centers of districts, towns, and cities to continue implementing dengue fever prevention and control activities, promptly supplying dengue fever prevention and control chemicals and spraying equipment to ensure readiness for epidemic control. They are to monitor and handle cases and outbreaks according to regulations, promptly, and minimize the spread and prolonged duration of outbreaks. Simultaneously, they are to implement intensive dengue fever prevention and control activities in August and September 2023, including conducting environmental sanitation campaigns and mosquito larva eradication on a commune, ward, and town scale, and in high-risk areas; proactively spraying mosquito-killing chemicals in high-risk areas, and widespread spraying in communes, wards, and towns with complex outbreaks.
Currently, the Provincial Center for Disease Control is coordinating with seven localities, including Buon Ma Thuot City, Buon Don, Ea Kar, Ea Sup, Krong Pac, Krong Ana, Krong Nang districts, and Buon Ho town, to proactively spray chemicals to prevent dengue fever. Simultaneously, these units are also strengthening communication activities on disease prevention and control through various forms such as direct communication, mobile communication, and Zalo groups in villages, hamlets, and residential areas. The communication content is specific and clear, focusing on the characteristics of the local epidemic situation, the dangers of the disease, and preventive measures so that people can understand and proactively prevent it.
