(CLO) In October 2024, the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications imposed administrative penalties on 5 organizations and individuals with a total fine of VND 57.5 million. The violations mainly revolved around non-compliance with regulations on trade and communication, affecting the city's healthy business environment.

In order to support the city's socio-economic development goals, in October 2024, the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications - a member of the city's Steering Committee 389 - stepped up propaganda on important political tasks, including measures to prevent and combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. This work not only protects the rights of consumers but also maintains fairness in local commercial activities.

Specifically, in October 2024, the Department coordinated with the city's functional forces to deploy many measures to raise awareness among both people and businesses about preventing and combating smuggling and trade fraud. To widely disseminate information, the Department of Information and Communications issued two documents to Hanoi press agencies as well as central and local press units, requesting coordination in propaganda work.

Along with propaganda on fraud prevention, the grassroots information system in Hanoi also focuses on promoting the market stabilization program, especially for essential goods, to prevent sudden price increases in 2024 and ensure a stable supply of goods.

In addition to communication activities, the Department of Information and Communications also strengthens inspection, supervision and handling of violations. In October, the Department imposed administrative penalties on 5 organizations and individuals with a total fine of 57.5 million VND. The violations mainly revolved around non-compliance with regulations on trade and communication, affecting the healthy business environment of the city.

The close coordination between the Department of Information and Communications and the press agencies has helped the propaganda work achieve high efficiency, and is an effective solution to promptly prevent and handle violations, contributing to building a stable, transparent and sustainable business environment. These activities are also a stepping stone for Hanoi to continue implementing socio -economic development programs in the coming time.
