On the afternoon of January 30th (the second day of the Lunar New Year), a traditional boat racing festival was held on the Ca Ty River in Phan Thiet City ( Binh Thuan province) to celebrate the Year of the Snake 2025.

Traditionally, on the afternoon of the second day of the Lunar New Year, the Ca Ty River becomes turbulent with boat races attracting many competing teams.

The competition attracted thousands of locals and tourists who came to watch the boat race and cheer on the competing teams.

According to the organizers, this year's tournament attracted 270 athletes from 9 teams representing communes and wards in Phan Thiet.

The sport of boat racing originated from the daily lives of fishermen in the coastal city of Phan Thiet. The participating athletes are all fishermen who make their living from fishing in Phan Thiet city.

The racing teams competed neck and neck on the river, cheered on enthusiastically by locals and tourists.

With its unique appeal, the annual traditional boat racing festival has also contributed to promoting the physical education and sports movement. At the same time, it effectively promotes tourism in Binh Thuan to domestic and international visitors.

Following the opening ceremony, the participating teams began competing in the rowing events, with various disciplines and distances.

In the final round, the organizing committee awarded prizes to the outstanding teams and athletes. The Phu Tai ward team won first place in the rowing competition in both the 500m and 1,200m loop events.
