In his opening remarks at the competition, Colonel Doan Van Hieu, Director of the Coast Guard Training and Professional Development Center, stated: The "I Love My Homeland's Seas and Islands" competition is a meaningful activity reflecting the spirit of the Vietnam Coast Guard, aiming to widely disseminate information to students about the seas and islands; about State documents related to maritime sovereignty ; about the functions, duties, powers, and achievements of the Vietnam Coast Guard; about the harmful effects of drugs and school violence and how to prevent them; and about the historical traditions, geographical location, and culture of their homeland.

Through this competition, we aim to raise awareness, strengthen military-civilian solidarity, reinforce patriotism and love for our homeland's seas and islands; promote the responsibility of citizens towards the cause of building and firmly protecting the sovereignty, security, and safety of the nation's seas and islands; and contribute to making our country a strong maritime nation, prosperous from the sea.

Delegates watched the students compete in the competition.

The competition involved 100 students from four junior high schools in Tam Hung commune. The contestants participated in four rounds: “Setting Sail,” “Overcoming Waves,” “Reaching the Shore,” and “Establishing Sovereignty Markers.” Each round, “Setting Sail,” “Overcoming Waves,” and “Reaching the Shore,” consisted of five questions, followed by a rescue round involving physical games organized by teachers, students, and officers and members of the Vietnam Coast Guard. The number of students rescued depended on the results of the games. The “Establishing Sovereignty Markers” round had more questions and included a situational problem-solving section; contestants in this round were not allowed to be rescued.

After exciting and engaging rounds of competition, the 10 most outstanding contestants were awarded prizes, including 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes, and 5 consolation prizes.

Awarding prizes for the painting contest on the theme "The Sea and Islands of the Fatherland - Uncle Ho's Soldiers - Vietnam Coast Guard".

On this occasion, the competition organizers held a conference to disseminate information about the sea, islands, and the Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard to officials and members of the Veterans Association of Tam Hung commune; presented 20 gifts to officials and members of the Veterans Association of Tam Hung commune and 20 gifts to disadvantaged students who have excelled in their studies in Tam Hung commune; and awarded prizes for the painting competition on the theme "The Sea and Islands of the Fatherland - Uncle Ho's Soldiers - Vietnam Coast Guard".
