(CLO) The Tu Thó resettlement village in Tê Xăng commune, Tu Mơ Rông district ( Kon Tum province) will receive a valuable set of gongs. In addition, the district People's Committee has decided to auction off 1kg of Ngọc Linh ginseng to raise funds for the village to develop community tourism.
On January 13th, Mr. Vo Trung Manh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tu Mo Rong district (Kon Tum province), announced that the provincial Department of Culture , Sports and Tourism had decided to donate a valuable set of gongs to the Tu Tho resettlement village to develop community tourism.
The Tu Thó resettlement village was built about five years ago to relocate people from areas at risk of landslides. After five years of relocation, the lives of the people have improved day by day. Their mindset has also changed, from deforestation to reforestation; from dependence to proactively selling their cattle to raise capital for developing high-value economic models.
Gongs and Xoang dance are two distinctive traditional cultural features of the Xo Dang people in Tu Mo Rong district.
After being forced to relocate several times due to natural disasters, the village lost its gongs, symbolic longhouses, and precious traditions of the Xơ Đăng people. The gifts donated by cultural management units, individuals, and philanthropists are of great significance in supporting the village's tourism development and preserving the Xơ Đăng people's culture.
According to Mr. Vo Trung Manh, with the potential and preparations for tourism already made, the locality believes that the Xo Dang people in Tu Tho will restore, preserve, and promote their unique cultural identity well, helping tourists experience the diversity of Vietnamese ethnic cultures.
The presentation of gongs to the villagers will take place tomorrow morning (January 14th) at the ceremony announcing the decision of the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee recognizing Tu Thó community tourism village, Tê Xăng commune.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Tu Mo Rong district also organized an auction of 1kg of "national treasure" Ngoc Linh ginseng to raise funds to support the people of Tu Tho resettlement village in developing community tourism.
The People's Committee of Tu Mo Rong district will auction off 1kg of Ngoc Linh ginseng to develop the Tu Tho community tourism village.
The auction will be held in two formats: in-person at the village and online via social media platforms for those who cannot attend in person. The highest bidder will own 1kg of Ngoc Linh ginseng.
