Focus on 'solving difficulties' to complete power projects as planned

Over the past period, the leaders of Tay Ninh province, departments, agencies, and localities have shown interest in and provided support to the electricity sector to successfully and effectively implement investment projects and upgrade the power grid system in the area, making a significant contribution to promoting local socio -economic development.

However, the implementation of investment in power projects in the area still faces certain difficulties and obstacles. The power sector recommends that the province find solutions to overcome difficulties and obstacles related to compensation and land clearance; supplementing, adjusting, and consolidating the provincial planning (power supply section); procedures for approving investment policies and simultaneously approving investors;...

During a meeting with the Southern Power Corporation, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Van Ut, emphasized that ensuring electricity supply plays a crucial role in the local socio-economic development. The province's electricity demand for development in the present and future is very high, requiring accelerated progress and timely commissioning of power projects.

The Provincial People's Committee directed relevant departments, agencies, and localities to focus on resolving difficulties to ensure the completion of power projects according to plan. Specifically, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to lead and coordinate with the Department of Finance and the Southern Power Corporation to review, update, and supplement the electricity supply needs at the Phuoc Dong Port 110kV Substation and other 110kV power grid projects into the Provincial Planning; to lead and coordinate with relevant departments, agencies, localities, and investors to review and study route options, calculate ways to minimize passage through central areas and densely populated residential areas, facilitate land clearance, and reduce additional costs. Furthermore, the Department of Industry and Trade will lead and coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to advise the Provincial People's Committee on establishing a working group to promptly address difficulties and obstacles in the implementation of power projects.

For the Department of Finance, it is urgent to review and appraise the submitted investment policy approval applications, and promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee on consideration and approval; and to study flexible and appropriate methods for soliciting opinions from relevant agencies and units to shorten the time for appraising investment policy applications as stipulated.

In the compensation and land clearance process for power projects, for projects with existing compensation plans, the Land Development Center, in coordination with local authorities and project investors, focuses on resolving difficulties and accelerating the compensation and land clearance process. For projects without existing compensation plans, the People's Committees of the project-located localities will take the lead, coordinating with the Land Development Center, project investors, and relevant agencies to urgently carry out related procedures such as: establishing compensation councils, surveying prices, approving prices, approving compensation and land clearance plans, etc., to expedite the compensation and land clearance process.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested the Southern Power Corporation to pay attention to guiding and supporting the locality regarding electricity supply needs to serve the socio-economic development of the province, ensuring stable transmission and preventing electricity shortages.
