On September 26th, the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region III (based in Vung Tau City) announced that functional forces, along with the specialized vessel SAR 272, had promptly rescued 10 fishermen adrift in the waters off Con Dao Island after their fishing boat sank.
At 5:55 AM on the same day, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) received information from fishing vessel BL 93279 TS about the vessel taking on water and sinking at a location approximately 22 nautical miles northwest of Con Dao.
At that time, there were 10 people on board the fishing boat, and the boat owner requested urgent rescue.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Center requested the Ho Chi Minh City Coastal Information Station to broadcast the information to vessels operating in the area to assist in the search and rescue operation. At the same time, the Center dispatched the specialized search and rescue vessel SAR 272, which was on standby at Con Dao, to carry out the mission.
By 10:45 AM the same day, the authorities at the scene had rescued all 10 fishermen on board the BL 93279 TS vessel, safely transferring them to the SAR 272 vessel for medical care.
Currently, the health of the fishermen involved in the accident is stable.
