Fisheries Surveillance Ship KN-219 promptly rescued fishermen in distress at sea.

In the early morning of October 27, while patrolling, controlling and preventing illegal fishing (IUU) in the sea area bordering Vietnam and Indonesia, ship KN-219 of Fisheries Surveillance Squadron No. 2 promptly rescued a fisherman in distress at sea.

At approximately 4:00 AM, the KN-219 vessel received an emergency assistance request from the fishing vessel BT-92979-TS regarding a fisherman who had been injured while fishing.

Immediately after receiving the information, the KN-219 vessel quickly moved to the fishing boat's location. At 4:30 AM, the KN-219 vessel approached and the medical team boarded to provide first aid to the victim.

The injured fisherman has been identified as Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang (born in 1985, from Ben Tre province). He was stunned and had a deep open wound of about 4-5cm on his right temple, bleeding profusely due to impact during work.

The medical team on board the KN-219 promptly disinfected, stopped bleeding, bandaged, and administered antibiotics, helping the victim overcome the critical condition.

By 5 a.m., the fisherman's health had stabilized, and he was able to communicate normally. The medical team instructed the fishing boat captain to bring the victim ashore for further treatment, to prevent complications and infection.
