According to the latest V-League transfer news, The Cong Viettel has decided to part ways with foreign player Mohammed Essam due to his poor performance.
Mohammed Essam is a former Egyptian U20 international and a former teammate of Mohamed Salah. He joined The Cong Viettel last season and had a few good performances. However, this season Essam has not performed as expected and has yet to score a goal in 10 appearances.
According to coach Nguyen Duc Thang, The Cong Viettel has officially parted ways with Mohammed Essam to bring in a new foreign player. Currently, the team is trialing four players and will select two of them to register for the next phase of the V-League 2023/2024 season.
Thus, out of the three foreign players from the beginning of the season, The Cong Viettel only retained midfielder Jahongir Abdumuminov. The two strikers, Bruno Cunha and Mohammed Essam, were both released.
If all procedures are completed on time, The Cong Viettel will introduce their new foreign player in the match against CAHN FC in Round 13 of the V-League, taking place at Hang Day Stadium at 7:15 PM tonight, March 9th.
