(Dan Tri) - The Cong Viettel Club defeated PVF-CAND with a score of 2-0, while Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) beat SHB Da Nang 1-0 in the matches of the 1/8 round of the National Cup taking place tonight (January 11).

From the 11m mark, Nguyen Duc Chien fooled goalkeeper Phi Minh Long of PVF-CAND, scoring to help The Cong Viettel lead 1-0.
This goal helped the home team have an easier game in the remaining minutes. PVF-CAND was forced to push up their formation to attack to find an equalizer. But when PVF-CAND pushed up, they exposed gaps in their defense.

In the third minute of extra time of the second half, The Cong Viettel scored their second goal of the match. Goalkeeper Phi Minh Long of PVF-CAND rushed out to clear the ball from Nguyen Cong Phuong's feet, but unfortunately for the away team, the ball went to Nham Manh Dung's feet.
The player of The Cong Viettel easily kicked the ball into the net, scoring the goal to seal a 2-0 victory for coach Nguyen Duc Thang's team. This victory brought The Cong Viettel into the quarterfinals of the 2024-2025 National Cup.
In another match of the round of 16 taking place this afternoon, SLNA won a narrow 1-0 victory over SHB Da Nang at Vinh Stadium. SLNA won the right to enter the quarterfinals, SHB Da Nang was eliminated.
