On March 13, the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province said it had issued an official dispatch to the Department of Education and Training and general schools under the department regarding the review and proposal to pilot teaching 5 days/week at junior high and high school levels.

This is the basis for assessing the conditions for organizing a pilot teaching program of 5 days/week instead of 6 days/week as at present.

For qualified schools, it is proposed to organize a pilot program of teaching 5 days/week, based on the time plan for implementing the program of each compulsory subject, elective subject, selected subject, selected study topic, compulsory educational activity, local educational content... to proactively arrange the time to implement the program, ensuring scientific and pedagogical nature.

Students in remote areas of Gia Lai. The Department of Education and Training of this province proposed a pilot program of teaching 5 days/week at junior high and high school levels.

In particular, it is not required to teach the subject in all weeks, nor is it required to divide the lessons/week equally to effectively use the school's facilities and teachers and staff. Absolutely do not, for the purpose of not having regular classes on Saturdays, force the teaching schedule, arrange an unscientific timetable, and put pressure on students to study.

Speaking to Thanh Nien reporters on March 13, a leader of the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province said that if teaching 5 sessions/week is implemented, schools must ensure that they teach enough periods according to the framework program, as well as ensure the quality of teaching and learning. Qualified schools will organize a pilot program and then review its effectiveness before expanding it.
