A candidate sent a question to Thanh Nien Newspaper: "I live in Gia Lai , I registered for admission to a university in Ho Chi Minh City, so do I pay the admission fee according to the time prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training for Gia Lai province or Ho Chi Minh City?".
Another candidate asked: "I registered for 8 wishes but now I only pay the fee for 5-6 wishes, is that okay? If I submit the fee on the wrong date, will the system accept it?"
Candidates who register for multiple wishes must pay the full admission fee for that many wishes.

Answering these questions, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, Deputy Director of the Admissions and Business Relations Center of the University of Finance and Marketing, said: "According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates will make payments according to the provinces/cities (where the candidates have submitted their application). That is, according to the province where the candidate has submitted his/her application for the high school graduation exam, not according to the province/city where the university the candidate has registered for admission."
Regarding whether candidates are required to pay fees for all registered wishes or can choose which wishes to submit, Master Phung noted: "When paying the admission fee, the system will automatically calculate the fee based on the number of wishes you have registered. Candidates must pay the full fee corresponding to the number of registered wishes. For example, if a candidate registers for 8 wishes, he/she must pay all 8, he/she cannot only submit 5 wishes and leave 3 wishes."
Candidates pay admission fees according to the schedule of the Ministry of Education and Training to ensure safety, convenience, and avoid overload.
According to Master Phung, when paying the application fee, the system will display 19 payment channels and the amount the candidate needs to pay (determined according to the selected wishes) in the payment value section. Candidates choose one of the 19 payment channels to pay the application fee.
In case candidates do not see the "Payment" button at the application registration interface, it means that the time is not within the payment fee payment period or is being temporarily hidden to prevent congestion in the payment system.
"To ensure safety, convenience, and avoid overload during the process of candidates making online payments, the Ministry of Education and Training has divided the payment schedule into regions of 34 provinces/cities according to specific time frames. Therefore, students should submit according to this schedule to avoid problems," Master Kim Phung advised candidates.
Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training issued an official dispatch on implementing online payment of university admission registration fees in 2025 with specified time frames for each province/city.
Specifically, candidates must pay the registration fee from July 29 to 5:00 p.m. on August 5 through the National Public Service Portal with 19 main online payment channels nationwide.
