On December 2, Victoria School signed a strategic partnership with Harvard Graduate School of Education to implement evidence-based social-emotional education models in Vietnam. The event marked an important step forward in building a happy school environment and comprehensive development for students according to the UNESCO Happy School orientation.
Strategic cooperation milestone brings Harvard standard SEL model to Vietnamese students
As a leading research unit specializing in social-emotional development (SEL) and healthy learning environments for children, Harvard Graduate School of Education collaborates with Victoria School to apply two sets of science- based SEL tools - SEL Kernels and Brain Games - to help students practice self-regulation of emotions, increase concentration, flexible thinking, positive communication and build healthy relationships.

Promoting social-emotional education according to international standards
SEL Kernels and Brain Games are two toolkits developed from years of research at Harvard, which have been tested in many countries and have shown clear effectiveness in improving students' social-emotional abilities. Applying these two models at Victoria School will help students approach SEL training activities every day naturally, not separate from the curriculum but directly integrated into the classroom, playtime and interactive activities.
The collaboration also includes intensive training for Victoria School’s professional staff, helping teachers understand the scientific nature of SEL and master the implementation method according to Harvard standards. Experts from the Harvard Graduate School of Education will directly guide, monitor and evaluate, to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of the model when applied in Vietnam.

Victoria School students are exposed to and practice SEL every day naturally, integrated directly into the classroom.
In line with UNESCO Happy School's orientation - putting students at the center of development
The partnership with Harvard Graduate School of Education is a continuation of the philosophy that Victoria School has consistently pursued: building an educational environment following the UNESCO "Happy School" orientation. In which, students' Well-being - including mental health, emotions, behavior and interaction - is considered a core factor that creates the quality of learning and sustainable development of each individual.
The synchronous implementation of the Harvard standard SEL model will contribute to strengthening a happy, safe, and humane school environment; at the same time, creating a premise for Victoria School students to develop comprehensively in the context of globalization.

Victoria School students are developed on the foundation of Well-being including mental health, emotions, behavior and interaction.
Joining forces to create a happy and healthy school environment for students
Speaking about the implementation orientation, MSc. Christopher Bradley - Deputy General Director of Victoria School Education System - said: "SEL will be integrated into all learning activities instead of becoming a standalone program. We believe that the combination of SEL, MOET program, Cambridge program and Happy School model will create a solid foundation for students to develop throughout their lives."

MSc. Christopher Bradley - Deputy General Director of Professional Affairs of Victoria School Education System spoke at the signing ceremony
Representative from Harvard Graduate School of Education - Professor Stephanie M. Jones - Gerald S. Lesser Professor of Early Childhood Development, Director of EASEL Lab; Director of the Victoria School Project also emphasized that Harvard Graduate School of Education aims to put science-based SEL models into practice effectively and sustainably. She said she was particularly impressed with the commitment and open-mindedness of the Victoria School team in integrating SEL Kernels and Brain Games into all learning activities. According to her, this is an important foundation for the two sides to continue building an SEL roadmap suitable for the Vietnamese context, contributing to supporting the emotional, social and cognitive development of Victoria School students in the long term.
In addition, guests at the event also appreciated the significance of the cooperation. Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Principal of Erato by Victoria Edu - commented that this cooperation demonstrates Victoria School's determination to spread the Happy School model and promote humane emotional education.

An important step on the journey "Journey to conquer perfect education"
The strategic partnership with Harvard Graduate School of Education is not only a professional project but also a strong affirmation of Victoria School’s long-term development orientation. With support from Harvard, Victoria School aims to build a generation of happy, confident, compassionate students with sustainable intellectual and emotional development – important qualities of a global citizen.
Integrating SEL into the curriculum is a fundamental element contributing to the realization of what Victoria School calls "The Journey to Conquer Perfect Education" - a journey towards building humane, progressive and truly student-centered learning environments.
