Cryptocurrency market today, September 13th: Strong gains and mixed investor sentiment in Vietnam.

(NLDO)- The market is currently forecast to continue to increase thanks to expectations that the FED will reduce interest rates by 0.25% at its meeting next week, bringing the range to 4% - 4.25%.

According to OKX data at 10:15 AM on September 13th, the cryptocurrency market saw a widespread increase.

Bitcoin surges

Specifically, over the past 24 hours, Bitcoin (BTC) has risen by more than 0.6%, trading around $115,900. Ethereum (ETH) continues to lead the gains with a 4.9% increase, reaching $4,723. Solana (SOL) also rose 3.8% to $242.5, while BNB increased 2.6% to $927.

According to CoinDesk , in just the last few hours, Bitcoin briefly surged to $116,600, while Ethereum also rose 5% to $4,650, its highest level since Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's Jackson Hole speech at the end of August.

At that time, Powell signaled that the Fed would prioritize supporting the labor market rather than focusing solely on controlling inflation. This move reinforced expectations that the Fed would definitely cut interest rates in September, causing investment flows to seek assets such as cryptocurrencies.

According to reports, while the international market is optimistic, domestic investor sentiment is the opposite after the Government issued Resolution No. 05/2025/NQ-CP, on piloting the cryptocurrency market for 5 years, applicable to service providers, issuers, and domestic and foreign investors.

This resolution marks the establishment of the first legal framework for the cryptocurrency market in Vietnam.

Specifically, according to the new regulations, domestic and foreign investors are only allowed to conduct transactions through organizations licensed by the Ministry of Finance .

Six months after the first domestic exchange begins operation, all trading activities outside the official system will be handled according to regulations, and may even lead to criminal prosecution in cases of serious violations.

This has caused concern among many investors using international exchanges. Mr. Truong Viet Hoang, a long-time investor in Ho Chi Minh City, said that many people have proactively sold off some of their assets held on international exchanges to avoid legal risks.

Another group remains hesitant about whether to retain or withdraw capital before transferring assets to the domestic exchange, due to concerns about liquidity issues.

According to investors, despite the rising global cryptocurrency market, domestic sentiment remains quite cautious, with no strong buying trend yet. They believe that for the market to operate sustainably, long-term investment should be encouraged instead of short-term trading.

Investors also expressed their desire for authorities to soon issue specific guidelines on the operating mechanisms, liquidity, and security of domestic cryptocurrency exchanges, in order to create peace of mind and confidence for participation.
