Speaking at the press conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Tru, Chairman of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund affirmed: Following the success of the first contest - 2023, the second "Vietnam Cultural Heritage through Painting" painting contest - 2025 was launched starting from September 2024 and ending on September 30, 2025. The judging, awarding, printing of books, and exhibition will take place on the occasion of the anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day, November 23, 2025.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Tru, the prize structure and total prize value are basically the same as the first competition. The organizing committee added 3 consolation prizes for students. The competition duration this time is longer (about more than 1 year instead of nearly 4 months previously). The organizing committee hopes that the competition will attract more participants, have a wider spread and be more successful.

The second painting contest “Vietnamese Cultural Heritage through Painting” was organized to create a playground for artists, and at the same time give young artists the opportunity to learn and express their love for cultural heritage, express their ideas and creativity in their paintings; thereby encouraging, motivating, creating a movement to love Vietnamese cultural heritage, preserving and honoring the priceless values ​​of national cultural heritage, spreading the love for cultural heritage among today's youth. This is a practical, specific and meaningful activity contributing to the common cause of preserving and promoting the value of national cultural heritage.

According to the rules, the contest is open to art lovers; young artists, art students at universities, colleges specializing in fine arts and cultural and art schools nationwide, Vietnamese students studying abroad, etc. are encouraged to participate.

The authors participated in the contest with drawings expressing the value of tangible and intangible cultural heritages and scenic spots in all regions of Vietnam in a freely expressed style.

Contest entries can be drawn using all painting materials including: oil, lacquer, silk, gouache, watercolor, iron pen, acrylic, graphic painting genres, printing and engraving techniques (including wood engraving, rubber engraving, metal engraving, monoprinting...). The Organizing Committee does not limit the number of entries.

The Jury will preliminarily evaluate the entries through photos sent to the Organizing Committee's email. Authors whose entries are selected for the Final Round will be notified by the Organizing Committee to send their entries by post to the address: Office of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association, No. 19 Ngoc Ha, Ba Dinh, Hanoi.

The works must meet the requirements of the Organizing Committee. The author must write down the following information: name of the painting, time of painting, brief and concise introduction of the meaning and idea of ​​the work; full name, date of birth, address, citizen identification number, phone number and email to the Organizing Committee. The outside of the package must clearly state: Painting for the 2nd "Vietnam Cultural Heritage through Painting" contest - 2025.

The Organizing Committee plans to award 30 prizes, including: 1 excellent prize worth 100 million VND; 1 first prize worth 75 million VND; 2 second prizes, each worth 50 million VND; 3 third prizes, each worth 40 million VND; 20 consolation prizes, each worth 10 million VND; 3 youth prizes, each worth 30 million VND. The Organizing Committee will pay 5 million VND/work to support creative materials and a certificate from the Organizing Committee for the 70 works selected for the final round. The total value of the prize is up to 975 million VND.

The winning works will be selected for exhibition at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum and several other cultural venues.
