Prime Minister hopes Vietnamese community in Qatar integrates and adapts quickly

TPO - Meeting with the Vietnamese community living and working in Qatar, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that they will learn, adapt, integrate into the host country and work with peace of mind.

After arriving in Doha, on the evening of October 30 (local time), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife met with officials, staff, the embassy and the Vietnamese community in Qatar.

Reporting to the Prime Minister, Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar Nguyen Huy Hiep said that the Vietnamese community in Qatar, with about 450 people, mainly works in the fields of construction , oil and gas, study, research, business, and some work in the Qatari prosecution agency. Of these, more than 300 people are engineers in oil and gas enterprises in Qatar. Making a proposal, Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu, an officer of the Qatari prosecution agency, suggested that Vietnam and Qatar promote negotiations and sign a visa exemption document for ordinary passport holders to facilitate travel for citizens of the two countries and develop tourism . The community representative also recommended that the Prime Minister discuss with the Qatari Government to grant more scholarships to Vietnamese students. Innovative thinking, surpassing oneself Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Party and State identify the overseas Vietnamese community as an inseparable part of the Vietnamese ethnic community and always care for the people regardless of whether they are Vietnamese at home or abroad.

Regarding the relationship between Vietnam and Qatar in particular and the Middle Eastern countries in general, the Prime Minister affirmed that although the development is good, the economic relationship is still limited, not commensurate with the political and diplomatic relations, potential and aspirations of the people. Therefore, during this working trip, the Prime Minister and the leaders of the countries will discuss promoting economic cooperation, in the spirit of "what you say must be done, what you commit to must be done". Through working in the three Gulf countries of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the Prime Minister said that the leaders of the countries all have innovative thinking, strategic vision and decisive action. "I work with investment funds, they all say that we must have a long-term vision, actions must ensure a short time and surpass ourselves", the Prime Minister said. In the current context, the Prime Minister said that time and intelligence are two important issues. “That is what we have learned from leadership and the character of the Middle Eastern people,” the Prime Minister said, hoping that people will learn, adapt, integrate into the host country and work with peace of mind.
