On the morning of July 16th, the People's Committee of Ea Súp district held a ceremony to present certificates of commendation and cash rewards to many collectives and individuals for their contributions in apprehending three wanted fugitives involved in the attack on the commune headquarters in Dak Lak on the morning of June 11th, which resulted in numerous casualties.
Awards were presented to 3 collectives including the Ea Súp District Police, the Ea Lê Commune Police, and the Ea Lê Commune People's Committee; and 12 individuals who are officers of the Ea Súp District Police and the Ea Lê Commune Police.
Nguyen Thien Van, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province, delivered a speech at the extraordinary awards ceremony.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thien Van - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province and Secretary of the Ea Sup district Party Committee - praised and encouraged the collectives and individuals who had contributed to the arrest of the three suspects.
Mr. Nguyen Thien Van also conveyed the congratulations and commendations of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung - Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee and Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi, Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, to the aforementioned forces.
Mr. Nguyen Thien Van, on behalf of the Ea Sup district leadership, presented 15 million VND to three collectives that contributed to the apprehension of wanted fugitives. In addition, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Ea Le commune also awarded the commune's police force 5 million VND as a bonus.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Thien Van said that the arrest of the three suspects was a special achievement, contributing to the suppression of those who attacked the headquarters of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes.
"We are continuously instructing the authorities not to neglect their duties and to be ready to apprehend the remaining suspects in the attack on the Ea Tiêu and Ea Ktur commune headquarters at any time," Mr. Văn affirmed.
As reported by VietNamNet, in the early morning of June 11th, a group of dozens of individuals used guns, Molotov cocktails, etc., to attack the headquarters of Ea Tiêu and Ea Ktur communes in Cư Kuin district.
The attack resulted in the deaths of four police officers, the Secretary of Ea Ktur commune, and the Chairman of Ea Tiêu commune; three civilians died, and two police officers were seriously injured. In addition, they burned down offices and destroyed much other property at the two commune headquarters.
Immediately after the incident occurred, the Ministry of Public Security directed the Dak Lak Provincial Police and related forces to quickly apprehend the group of suspects.
As of July 16th, the police have prosecuted and detained over 90 people in connection with the aforementioned incident. These individuals have been charged with the following crimes: "Terrorism aimed at overthrowing the people's government"; "Failure to report a crime"; and "Organizing or facilitating the illegal exit, entry, or stay of others in Vietnam."
The Dak Lak Provincial Police also issued a special wanted notice for six individuals involved in the case, including Nay Duong (55 years old), Nay Yen (52 years old), and Nay Tam (49 years old), all residing in Cu Pong commune, Krong Buk district.
Y Jũ Niê (55 years old, residing in Buôn Kang, Ea Knuêc, Krông Pắk); Y Huăl Ê Ban (53 years old, residing in Buôn Ea Mắp, Ea Pốk town, Cư M'gar district) and Y Khing Liêng (31 years old, residing in Hòa Sơn commune, Krông Bông district).
Previously, all six of these individuals were charged by the Dak Lak Provincial Police with "Terrorism aimed at overthrowing the people's government."
By the afternoon of July 15th, police forces had arrested three suspects who were hiding in a field hut in Hamlet 11 (Ea Le Commune, Ea Sup District): Nay Yen, Nay Tam, and Y Ju Nie.
