On the morning of December 3, the Ministry of National Defense held a conference on the implementation of the task of producing unmanned vehicles. Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of National Defense chaired the conference.

In recent times, units under the General Department of Defense Industry and the Military Industry-Telecoms Group ( Viettel ) have actively and proactively researched and developed a number of unmanned vehicles to serve defense and security tasks, as well as socio-economic development.

Currently, the units have mastered and manufactured many product components, programmed control software, applied artificial intelligence technology, and assembled products.

Based on the report and opinions at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam requested the assigned units to soon complete the types of unmanned vehicles that are being researched and manufactured, to soon put them into production to equip the Army; continue to research and improve the modern features of these products.

In addition, strengthen coordination with research institutes, schools, and units throughout the army; focus on building a team of experienced human resources and qualified testing and inspection infrastructure; focus on investing in research and development of core technologies and platform technologies.

Deploying technology transfer in the defense industry with domestic and foreign partners, serving research, manufacturing, and mass production; creating a data platform, modularizing designs, sharing components between product lines; focusing on opening new projects.
