According to the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC), at 22:30 on July 17, 2025, the electricity consumption capacity in 17 northern provinces and cities (from Ha Tinh and beyond, excluding Hanoi ) reached 18,242 MW.

This consumption level exceeds the previous peak of 18,084 MW recorded on the evening of June 2, 2025, and is significantly higher than the 2024 peak of 17,300 MW recorded at 22:00 on August 10, 2024.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 18 and 19, the Northern region continued to experience widespread heat, with some areas experiencing severe heat with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35 to 38 degrees Celsius, with some areas recording temperatures above 38 degrees Celsius. Relative humidity was low, commonly from 50 to 55%, causing the demand for cooling equipment, especially air conditioning, to increase sharply during peak hours, putting great pressure on the power system.

Faced with this situation, EVNNPC has been implementing many solutions to safely, stably and continuously operate the power grid system, ensuring electricity supply for more than 11 million customers in the management area.

EVNNPC calls for the cooperation and companionship of organizations, businesses and people in using electricity economically and effectively, especially during peak hours from 13:00 to 15:00 and from 20:00 to 23:00 every day.

At the same time, it is recommended that people, businesses and agencies: turn off unnecessary electrical equipment when leaving the room, limit the simultaneous use of many high-capacity devices during peak hours. The air conditioner temperature should be set at 26 to 27 degrees Celsius and combined with the use of additional fans to ensure both cooling and energy saving.

According to EVNNPC, choosing devices with energy-saving labels and monitoring daily electricity consumption via websites or customer care applications are also practical solutions to help people adjust their electricity usage behavior in a reasonable manner.

In addition, EVNNPC encourages households, production and business establishments to invest in rooftop solar power systems according to the self-production - self-consumption model. This solution not only helps reduce pressure on the national grid but also contributes to promoting clean energy development, towards the goal of sustainable growth.

Using electricity economically and efficiently not only helps reduce living and production costs but also plays an important role in ensuring national energy security, especially during the peak summer season this year.

EVNNPC said that electricity customers can contact EVNNPC Customer Care Center at 19006769, visit the website https://cskh.npc.com.vn or download the EVNNPC CSKH application on their smartphones for 24/7 service.
