Dak Lak province (Vietnam) and Mondulkiri province (Cambodia) held talks on the search for the remains of fallen soldiers during the 2025-2026 dry season.

On October 24, in Senmonorom City, Mondulkiri Province (Cambodia), the Steering Committee 515 of Dak Lak Province (Vietnam) and the Specialized Committee of Mondulkiri Province (Kingdom of Cambodia) held a meeting to deploy the task of searching, collecting, and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia during the 2025-2026 dry season.

Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee 515 of Dak Lak province Dao My and Ms. Keo Sa Vuon, Deputy Governor, Head of the Specialized Committee of Mondulkiri province (Cambodia) chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee 515 of Dak Lak province Dao My highly appreciated the friendly relationship and good tradition of the two provinces in promoting, consolidating and strengthening the relationship of mutual support and assistance in carrying out the task of searching for and collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the war in Cambodia.

Leaders of the two Specialized Boards signed and handed over the Memorandum of Understanding on implementing tasks for the 2025-2026 dry season.

From 2001 to the present, the two sides have actively coordinated in directing Team K51 of the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command to search for and collect 769 remains of martyrs; of which 23 remains were collected during the 2024-2025 dry season alone.

In carrying out the task of searching for and collecting the remains of Vietnamese martyrs, the two Special Task Forces always strictly adhere to the Memorandum of Understanding signed annually, coordinating closely, exchanging information, and meeting to promptly and harmoniously resolve related issues.

Ms. Keo Sa Vuon, Deputy Governor, Head of the Mondulkiri Provincial Task Force, affirmed that the government, people and armed forces of Mondulkiri province will create the most favorable conditions for Team K51 to carry out its tasks in the area during the 2025-2026 dry season, ensuring a place to stand, supporting forces; actively propagating and mobilizing people to provide information about Vietnamese tombs.

At the meeting, the two sides reached a high level of agreement on the plan, content and tasks discussed. As planned, on November 18, 2025, Team K51 will depart to carry out its mission in Mondulkiri province, Cambodia.

The Dak Lak Provincial Steering Committee also presented 13,000 USD from the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to support the Mondulkiri Provincial Steering Committee, Kingdom of Cambodia.

Previously, the delegation of the Steering Committee 515 of Dak Lak province came to offer incense at the Vietnam - Cambodia Combat Alliance Friendship Monument; surveyed the land fund location that Mondulkiri province agreed to support for Dak Lak province to build a residence for Team K51 to carry out its mission.
