Expressing his pleasure at meeting again with President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the two countries have always been good friends, good partners, and always support and help each other.

In the context of the current complex and profound changes in the world situation, the Prime Minister affirmed his determination to strengthen solidarity with South Africa in the spirit of "working together, enjoying together, winning together and developing together".

In addition to cooperation in the agricultural sector, the Prime Minister suggested that the two sides expand cooperation to the fields of green transformation, digital transformation, renewable energy, and climate change response; and asked South Africa to support Vietnam in soon launching negotiations on an FTA between Vietnam and the Southern African Customs Union.

The South African President affirmed that Vietnam is a close friend and trusted partner of South Africa in Asia and wishes to work with Vietnam to bring the relationship to a new height. He highly appreciated Vietnam's effective development model and open, active and responsible foreign policy towards the international community.
Thanking the South African President for his invitation to attend the G20 Summit in 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed Vietnam's readiness to participate and actively contribute to the overall success of the event, especially in common priority areas between the two countries such as reducing poverty and inequality, ensuring food security, and promoting sustainable development.

During his State visit to Vietnam, this afternoon, South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa and his delegation laid a wreath and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum. The delegation also laid a wreath at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son Street, Hanoi.
