Expressing his pleasure at meeting President Cyril Ramaphosa of the Republic of South Africa again, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the two countries have always been good friends and partners, always supporting and helping each other.

In the context of the current complex and profound global changes, the Prime Minister affirmed his determination to strengthen solidarity with South Africa in the spirit of "working together, sharing the benefits, winning together, and developing together".

Besides cooperation in the agricultural sector, the Prime Minister proposed that the two sides expand cooperation into the fields of green transformation, digital transformation, renewable energy, and combating climate change; and requested South Africa's support for Vietnam to soon initiate negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and the Southern African Customs Union.

The President of South Africa affirmed that Vietnam is a close and trusted friend and partner of South Africa in Asia, and expressed his desire to work with Vietnam to elevate the relationship to a new level. He highly appreciated Vietnam's effective development model and its open, proactive, and responsible foreign policy towards the international community.
Thanking the South African President for the invitation to attend the 2025 G20 Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed Vietnam's readiness to participate and make positive contributions to the overall success of the event, especially in common priority areas between the two countries such as poverty reduction, inequality reduction, food security, and promoting sustainable development.

During her state visit to Vietnam, this afternoon, South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa and her delegation laid wreaths at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum; the delegation also laid wreaths at the Monument to the Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son Street, Hanoi.
