On the morning of August 19, the Organizing Committee of major holidays in Ho Chi Minh City held the opening ceremony of a photo exhibition with the theme From the era of independence and national unification to the era of national growth , at Nguyen Hue walking street, Ho Chi Minh City.
At the same time, the exhibition also took place in Dong Khoi Street (in front of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City and opposite Chi Lang Park) with the theme of Ho Chi Minh City confidently moving towards a new era and Colors of culture - tourism of Ho Chi Minh City .
This is one of the activities towards the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2.

Mr. Tran The Thuan - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports - delivered the opening speech, reviewing the history of building and defending the country, the glorious pages of history with many glorious feats of arms of the nation.
Among them, the August Revolution of 1945 is considered a brilliant milestone - the greatest heroic epic of the nation's history in the 20th century.
On September 2, 1945, at Ba Dinh Square, on behalf of the provisional government, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam - the first worker-peasant state in Southeast Asia, opening a new era in the Ho Chi Minh era: the era of independence, freedom and progress towards building socialism.
"80 years have passed, and the Declaration of Independence still echoes in the mountains and rivers, forever imprinted in the hearts of every Vietnamese person, urging generations to firmly follow the path chosen by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, fulfilling the sacred oath "The entire Vietnamese people are determined to devote all their spirit and strength, lives and property to maintain that freedom and independence", vowing to protect the revolutionary achievements of their ancestors, wholeheartedly striving, studying, working, and making every effort to build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam" - Mr. Tran The Thuan emphasized.

At Nguyen Hue walking street, with the theme From the era of independence and national unification to the era of national rise , the organizers displayed more than 100 images summarizing the developments of the August Revolution in 1945 and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

On Dong Khoi Street (in front of the Department of Culture and Sports), 70 photos are displayed with the theme of Ho Chi Minh City confidently moving towards a new era , marking a major change in scale, development orientation and strategic vision towards the goal of becoming a megacity of the country and the region.
Opposite Chi Lang Park, the organizers display photos with the theme of Cultural and Tourism Colors of Ho Chi Minh City , including artistic photos of nature, people, cultural and historical relics, architectural art, sea tourism... of the new Ho Chi Minh City.
The exhibitions take place from today until September 5.
