Awarding 155 Vallet scholarships to excellent students in the Central Highlands

On August 28th, in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province, the Vietnam Meeting Organization awarded the 2024 Vallet scholarships to outstanding students who overcame difficulties to excel in their studies in the Central Highlands region and the two provinces of Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan .

Attending the event were Comrade Nguyen Thai Hoc, Acting Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Pham S, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Professor Tran Thanh Van, President of the Vietnam Meeting Organization, and representatives of the Vallet Scholarship Fund.

Vallet scholarships are awarded to outstanding students in the Central Highlands and two provinces in South Central Vietnam (image 1).

Acting Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thai Hoc presented flowers to thank Professor Tran Thanh Van and his wife, and representatives of the Vallet Scholarship Fund.

The program awarded 155 scholarships, totaling 2.75 billion VND, along with certificates from the Vietnam Meeting Organization. Each scholarship for high school students was 15 million VND (an increase of 1 million VND compared to 2023), and each scholarship for university students was 29 million VND (an increase of 1 million VND).

Among the students who received Vallet scholarships this year, there are 125 high school students, ethnic minority students, and outstanding students from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Central Highlands provinces, as well as in Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces.

30 Vallet scholarships are available for outstanding students from universities in the Central Highlands, Nha Trang University, Da Lat University, and underprivileged but academically excellent students from universities in the Central Highlands.

Unfortunately, due to health reasons, Professor Odon Vallet, President of the Vallet Scholarship Foundation, was unable to personally travel to Da Lat to present the scholarships to outstanding students this time.

Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Tran Thanh Van said he was very happy to return to Da Lat, a poetic and very special city, associated with many meaningful activities and humanitarian values ​​for the Meeting Vietnam Organization in particular and the Vallet Scholarship Fund in general.

Professor Tran Thanh Van delivered a speech at the scholarship award ceremony.

“I am very happy to personally present scholarships to outstanding students in the Central Highlands. And I am even happier to see them making progress and having the potential to go far in their studies, especially the students from ethnic minority groups. Over the past time, with all our efforts, we have always strived to increase the value of the scholarships, aiming to give them more motivation to excel,” shared the President of the Meeting Vietnam Organization.

At the ceremony, Acting Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thai Hoc expressed his gratitude for the affection that the Vietnam Meeting Organization and Professor Tran Thanh Van have shown towards Da Lat city in particular and students in the Central Highlands provinces in general.

Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Pham S and representatives of the Vallet Scholarship Fund presented scholarships to outstanding students.

According to the Organizing Committee, this is the 24th year that the Vietnam Meeting Science and Education Organization has awarded the Vallet Scholarship, primarily funded by Professor Odon Vallet, to Vietnamese students, helping them to have more motivation to go further in their studies and realize their passion for science.

Vallet scholarships are awarded to outstanding students in the Central Highlands and two provinces in South Central Vietnam (image 6).

Vallet scholarships are awarded to outstanding students from ethnic minority groups.

Since 2001, the Vallet Scholarship Fund has awarded more than 55,000 scholarships with a total value exceeding 500 billion VND. The number and value of scholarships have increased annually.

This scholarship awarding ceremony is part of the Vallet Scholarship Program 2024 of the Vietnam Meeting Science and Education Organization, which will award scholarships to more than 2,100 students nationwide, with a total value of over 50 billion VND.
