On August 20th, the Ton Duc Thang Museum held a gathering to commemorate the 136th anniversary of the birth of President Ton Duc Thang (August 20, 1888 – August 20, 2024).
Attending the meeting were the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, Tran The Thuan; the Vice President and General Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, Ho Xuan Lam; and the Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, La Thanh Tuan.
This is a particularly important annual event of the Ton Duc Thang Museum, aimed at expressing profound gratitude to President Ton Duc Thang - a staunch communist, an exemplary leader, an outstanding son of An Giang province, and a loyal fighter of the international communist and workers' movement.
The delegation observed a minute of silence in memory of President Ton Duc Thang - a leader of the working class, a shining example of diligence, frugality, integrity, and righteousness, who wholeheartedly and tirelessly served the revolution and the people.
Speaking about the tradition, Mr. Pham Thanh Nam, Director of the Ton Duc Thang Museum, shared that President Ton Duc Thang's revolutionary life is a shining example of unwavering loyalty to the Party and the people, always upholding the spirit of bravery and indomitability, maintaining revolutionary ethics: diligence, frugality, integrity, honesty, humility, and simplicity.
"Celebrating Uncle Ton's birthday is an opportunity to express profound gratitude, to continue learning, cultivating, and training ourselves following the example of our beloved Uncle Ton; to strengthen the education of patriotic and revolutionary ideals and traditions for cadres, Party members, officials, and workers, especially the younger generation; and to foster pride and confidence in the leadership of the Party and the State in the process of renovation, construction, and defense of the country," Mr. Pham Thanh Nam shared.
On this occasion, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 100th anniversary of the Ba Son Shipyard's founding (August 4, 1925 - August 4, 2025), the Ton Duc Thang Museum, in collaboration with the Ba Son Corporation, is organizing and opening a thematic exhibition entitled "Ba Son - The Flow of Time".
